Introduction

STMS - The School Transport Management System is a hi-tech solution using RFID, GPS and GPRS technologies.

This solution will give peace of mind to parents by sending text messages on their mobile phones every time the student gets into the bus or alights while going to school from home and vice-versa. It also has an application interface, where one can view not only the real time view of the location of the bus on a map but also the students inside the bus at any given point in time. In addition to this, system can be configured to send specific alerts to parents and school administration. For instance, system can be set up to send an alert to school administration if student exit is not recorded for more than 10 minutes after the vehicle engine off.

In future, the same RFID card can be used as smart card for other functions like, canteen automation, library automation etc.

Introduction

Library management solution is a part of "Guardian" which enables a school to automate their library for the use of students and staffs. The components of this solution include automated check-in and check-out kiosk and handheld readers. The handheld readers are used by librarian or even by students to search the books that they are looking for, it can also be used for sorting books for different section. The automated touch screen based kiosk runs very user friendly application which can be used even by kids. The application enables the user to automatically do the check-in and check-out of books. The whole process is very quick and hence reduces the congestion and crowd in the library and making it peaceful for the readers. This system makes the school library an state-of-art entity for the school.

School does not have to incur heavy cost for this solution as single unified student card would be used for this solution, which is already a part of other modules like STMS and canteen management.

Canteen management is a part of "Guardian" which makes a school canteen transparent to parents and school administration. This solution is based on pre-paid cards for the students for any transaction for the foods in school canteen. In this case parent will recharge the card based on their child's eating habit and that can be used by students in the canteen hence enabling cashless transactions. The system can be customized and can be configures based on school's requirement. The system records the eating habit of a child and will update the same to parents weekly, fortnightly or monthly. School management can also keep an eye over the canteen regarding kind of food they are providing to children and It is always good to have a healthy body for a healthy mind. Parents can also come to know if their child is eating too many chocolates or drinking too many Coke's etc.

The same card which is being used for STMS and Library management can be used as pre-paid cards for canteen.
